Linn Grove, Iowa is located on the Inkpaduta Canoe Trail, a 131-mile-long historical river trail.

Linn Grove is known as the Catfish Capitol of Iowa, but walleye are also often caught below the dam, especially during the mid-April spawning season. Fishing is a popular pastime at the dam for all ages. Bait is available for sale at local businesses, as are fishing licenses.

The bald eagles take up residence on the Little Sioux River during the winter months, and are often seen fishing in the open water below the dam in the morning and again in late afternoon.
